Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Intromark Incorporated has access to an ongoing source of new product ideas through its sister company, InventHelp, America’s largest inventor service company.
Intromark assists inventors and entrepreneurs in their attempts to market new products and inventions by serving as a liaison with a company once it has expressed substantial interest in a particular idea. There is no cost or obligation for companies to review inventions matched to their specific areas of interest.
"We have thousands of new product ideas in a variety of consumer and trade goods categories," said Richard Resnick, Director of Intromark.
Are Intromark services helpful to companies? Just ask CRTProducts, Inc., a TV marketing company comprised of the management team at Cannella Response Television, Inc. CRTProducts has successfully tapped into Intromark's resources for new product ideas.
CRTProducts signed a licensing agreement with Intromark in 2001 to manufacture, market and distribute the Weed Thrasher, an easy to-use replacement head for gas-powered weed trimmers. It tested well on television, leading to a national rollout as a 120-second spot. Weed Thrasher is currently being sold in Wal-Mart stores nationwide.
"We have established a very solid working relationship with Intromark, and look forward to marketing more of their products via direct response television," said Kent Strong, President of CRTProducts Inc.
When a company expresses interest in an invention and is interested in acquiring the rights, it works directly with an Intromark licensing executive, who will help the company license or purchase the idea. Intromark's licensing executives are experienced at putting together licensing agreements that meet the needs of individual companies.
To further aid companies seeking new product ideas, Intromark can do custom searches of its entire invention resources, which is one of the largest available sources of new product ideas. Working one-on-one with a company representative, a licensing executive can try to find specific types of inventions within product categories defined by the company.
Another company that took advantage of Intromark’s personalized service is Century Drill and Tool Company, a manufacturer of professional quality power tools and accessories. They contacted Intromark about a new construction tool, but upon examination, it was not quite right for them.
"I was looking for new drill accessories," said Kurt Tachick, New Product Development Manager for Century Drill and Tool Company, "and when the item I first inquired about was not exactly what I was looking for, Intromark suggested another item that was a good fit for our product line."
Century Drill and Tool Company signed a license agreement with Intromark for the CoPilot, an adapter that accurately enlarges a smaller hole with one easy cut. Century launched an Internet campaign to promote and sell the product. It has also been featured in several catalogs, which are distributed to more than 70,000 homes. According to the company, sales of the CoPilot have been steady and rising.
