Edith G. Tolchin, who refers to herself as "The Sourcing Lady," founded EGT Global Trading in 1997, with a goal to link U.S. inventors with Asian manufacturers. Tolchin's first trip to INPEX® was in 2002 and she said she's enjoyed the show every year since. "INPEX is a wonderful show in which to network with industry peers," she said. "I refer clients with new inventions to INPEX to see what it's like to work a trade show, and I frequently encourage them to purchase a booth to show their products."
While INPEX 2004 was a special personal highlight for Tolchin because she got to meet Art Fry, the inventor of Post-it Notes, she said the real highlight is meeting the inventors. "I really enjoy being able to meet and speak with the inventors and see their new ideas in various stages of development, from prototypes all the way through to packaged, shelf-ready product."
Tolchin attends INPEX because in her eyes it is a very professional show. She feels she can educate inventors on the subject of manufacturing their products in Asia. Through INPEX Tolchin said she has gained contacts with other invention industry service providers, which in turn has helped her assist her clients with referrals to areas beyond her expertise. Tolchin also said that INPEX has been a great way to connect inventors with industry professionals.
