
Valerie Davis, inventor of Valarezzz portable pillows was at an impasse when she attended her session at the INPEX Inventors Resource Center in 2004. "I didn't know exactly which direction to go in as far as packaging," she explains. "I didn't know if I should package my product in a box or in plastic. I did find out that most people like to be able to feel it, and if you get them to feel it, to pick it up and touch it, then they might think 'Oh, I could use that'."
Inventors who come to INPEX are often surprised to find that the show offers them not only the opportunity to exhibit their inventions, but also the opportunity to learn more about the options available to them as they work to pursue their ideas.
At the INPEX Inventor's Resource Center, inventors are given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with business experts and discuss topics specific to their inventions. The following is a listing of professionals who will be available for face-to-face meetings with inventors at INPEX 2005:
Colin Anderson, Digital Innovations. Anderson (Engineering PhD/MBA) is an entrepreneur, author, small business consultant, and inventor who has made a career of bridging the gap between innovation and the marketplace. As co-founder and past-CEO of Digital Innovations, he led or participated in every aspect of the business in building it from the idea stage. With his product development, fund-raising, sales and marketing, and consulting experience, Collin is well-suited to discuss a range of business strategies.
Claire-Juliette Beale, Bresslergroup, Inc. A Philadelphia-based product research, design and development consulting firm, Bresslergroup, Inc. has helped clients since 1970. While clients range from start-up to Fortune 500, all benefit from Bresslergroup's experience of more than 30 years, which includes working on thousands of projects and obtaining 75 patents. Claire-Juliette Beale is Bresslergroup's Director of Strategy & Business Development. Bresslergroup has also received 70 awards for product design.
Don Debelak, Entrepreneur Magazine and Private Consultant. Debelak, a New Product Marketing Specialist, has been involved with inventors and inventions for over 20 years. Since 1998, he has written columns on new products and innovations for Entrepreneur Magazine as well as authoring three inventor books.
Ed Delia, Delia Associates. Delia Associates specializes in brand development and branding services for emerging and mid-size companies ready to experience serious growth through market differentiation. The Company uses a proprietary, systematic process to help clients identify, create and express their most distinctive assets. Company president and CEO, Delia will be available to help with any related questions.
BJ Dohrmann, IBI Global. Dohrmann is the original founder of Income Builders International. IBI Global is a CEO retreat and advanced business training program hosted five times annually. For almost two decades, Dohrmann has provided training services to IBI classes teaching business skills on administration, accounting, funding, marketing, planning, communication, team building and other topics of interest to CEO's.
Ron Foxcroft, Fox 40 International, Inc. Foxcroft is President of Fox 40 International Inc, and inventor of the Fox 40 Pealess Whistle. The Fox 40 Pealess Whistle is sold in 120 countries and sanctioned by the NFL, CFL, NHL, NCAA and the NBA. Francis Graham, Kent State University. A Physics Professor, Graham can answer inventors' technical questions about their inventions or prototypes. He also provides tips on how inventors can take advantage of an often-unknown resource, local Small Business Development Centers, which can offer assistance with product development, business planning, and more.
Howard Lim, How Studios. Lim is an award winning Branding Specialist and Creative Director. He founded HOW Studios in 1989 at a time when the worlds of technology and graphic design were colliding and transforming the industry. Today, Lim leads a team of professionals who communicate and brand the visions of America's leading emerging and Fortune 500 companies.
Jill Lublin, Promising Promotion. As CEO of the public relations strategic consulting firm, Promising Promotion, Lublin has insight into working with the media. Lublin is the host of the nationally syndicated radio program, "Do the Dream", a member of the National Speakers Association and National Association of Women Business Owners, and founder of GoodNews Media, Inc. a media production and distribution company dedicated to positive news and information. She has authored several audio programs, as well as a PR workbook. Jill's book "Guerrilla Publicity" is part of the best selling Jay Conrad Levinson Guerrilla Marketing series.
Barry Moltz, The Prairie Angels. Moltz is Co-Founder of The Prairie Angels, a Chicago-based group of private investors committed to investing in early stage companies. He is a business coach and serial entrepreneur, and is a popular speaker on start-up business, business capitalization, and quality-of-life issues for entrepreneurs.
Michael Port, Michael Port & Associates, LLC. As CEO of Michael Port & Associates, Port is fanatical about helping entrepreneurs, free agents and small business owners. Through seminars, keynotes and coaching programs, Port travels all over the country delivering his presentations.
Mark Rubin, Southern New Hampshire University. Rubin is a 23-year veteran Professor of Marketing and Quantitative Analysis at Southern NH University and is a periodic writer for the Marketing News. For the past 5 years, Rubin has served as an Advisory Board Member of the Amoskeag Business Incubator.
Mike Starkweather, Starkweather Associates. Starkweather has lectured about business and technology at Brigham Young University, taught law at the University of Phoenix, and is currently teaching at the University of Utah on IP Valuation and Portfolio Management Strategies. Additionally, he has taught over 15 seminars in Los Angeles to over 3500 Emerging Enterprises about intellectual property and its effect on business development.
