Presentation Topic:
Inventions: The OEM Point Of View
When looking for new products, what do Original Equipment Manufacturers, or OEM's, look for? Jeffrey Badovick of APTEC, a product development firm, will explain from an OEM point of view what they look for and want from new products, how they perceive inventors, what types of relationships they want, their legal concerns, and more.
What do you hope exhibitors will get out of your presentation?
"I hope exhibitors will receive perspective that aids them in understanding what their potential targets need and helps them in creating strategies."
What is your advice for exhibitors or potential exhibitors?
"Keep your expectations humble. Successful commercialization is never guaranteed. Be careful of resources that say they'll have your invention to market in 90 days."
What are three traits you think every inventor should have?
"Perseverance is most important. All inventors will face challenges, and they must maintain that passion and intensity. Patience is essential because the process can take years in many cases. Lastly, integrity will never fail you."
