INPEX® 2006 Keynote Speaker: Sara Blakely
INPEX, The Invention Show, announces that Sara Blakely, inventor of SPANX, is the keynote speaker for INPEX 2006. Sara will be speaking on Saturday, June 10, from 11:00 to noon.
An entrepreneur and former stand-up comedienne, Sara is the founder and owner of SPANX, patented footless body-shaping pantyhose. Sara appeared on Oprah's "Favorite Things" show in 2000, and since then, has developed and launched a full line of more than 40 body-slimming products.
With names like Power Panties, All The Way, Bra-llelujah and Bod-A-Bing, SPANX have created a stir with women all over the world. Sara and her SPANX have been featured in many magazines, such as Glamour and Vogue, and have also appeared on CNN, QVC and NBC's The Today Show. In 2002, Sara was named Ernst and Young's "Southeast Regional Entrepreneur of the Year," and she was recently named "Woman of the Year" for the state of Georgia. A native of Clearwater, Fla., Sara is a graduate of Florida State University.
She also recently appeared on the FOX reality show, "The Rebel Billionaire," with Virgin records owner Richard Branson. A runner-up on the show, she received a $750,000 check to pursue her dream to start a foundation to empower women.
