In addition to exhibiting their inventions at INPEX, inventors also have the opportunity to absorb the insights of experts in many areas of business at the INPEX Inventors University. Professionals from around the country will visit INPEX to share the knowledge they have gained from working in various fields, including inventing, marketing, law and public relations.
Exhibitors are encouraged to attend the University's seminars to attempt to gain a better understanding of these and other fields. Question and answer sessions often follow the seminars, and exhibitors are also free to visit the Prototyping, Manufacturing and Intellectual Property Pavilions with any additional questions. Inventors also may stop in at the Inventors Resource Center, where they can sit down with representatives from a variety of organizations and receive advice particular to their needs.
Many inventors find that their attendance at the University was worthwhile. Dennis Hutchinson, inventor of the Spin Clean and an exhibitor at INPEX 2004, found the Inventors University beneficial. "I learned every kind of in and out, how to overcome obstacles and stalls, and how to improve on things and communicate."
Some of the topics that will be covered include how to enhance your exhibiting experience, the questions to ask when negotiating a license, what OEMs look for from inventors, the use of internet-based media and the value of marketing. Later in the week, speakers will discuss patent protection, how to use Direct Response Marketing to build brand awareness, the possibilities of Interactive Media and Virtual Prototyping, public relations techniques and Intellectual Property law outside of the United States.
Speakers also reap the benefits of sharing their knowledge. Claire-Juliette Beale, who will present "Product Development for Inventors" on Wednesday, June 7, believes that the INPEX Inventors University provides a "great opportunity to meet with inventors and see boundless examples of human ingenuity and imagination."
INPEX Inventors University speakers participate as industry experts but are not employed by, or otherwise compensated by, InventHelp or its affiliates. The opinions expressed by the speakers are their own and do not necessarily represent the opinion of InventHelp, the Invention/New Product Exposition, or its affiliates.
