InventHelp® Clients to Appear on QVC

AbsorbEase
Gary Allen's invention "AbsorbEase" to be featured on QVC.

When QVC hit the airwaves in 1986, the idea of shopping at home through a TV set was a revolutionary one. Some twenty years later, the home shopping industry, with networks such as QVC and HSN, has become a powerful medium for selling everything from diamond jewelry to power tools. Now a trio of InventHelp® clients are getting their chance.

Inventors Joe Simonsen, Gary Allen and Dr. Larry Cole all have tentative deals to sell their products on QVC. Though the inventors have very different products developed for very different reasons, it was their relationship with InventHelp® that led them to QVC.

The InventHelp®/QVC connection began at INPEX®, the annual invention trade show that InventHelp® sponsors. At the 2005 show, InventHelp® initiated talks that led to the development of a business relationship with a QVC agent to bring InventHelp® products to QVC buyers on a regular basis.

It was through this arrangement that Joe Simonsen's invention, "The Over the Door Towel Holder," was presented to QVC and QVC expressed interest in airing the product. Through the years, Simonsen had invented several different devices to hang various types of paper and cloth towels. He even exhibited one of those devices at INPEX® in 2002. Simonsen became an InventHelp® client in February of 2006. Intromark assisted Simonsen in finding a manufacturer and filling out paperwork required by QVC. Currently, QVC has placed an order for the product and plans to begin selling it on the air in the first part of 2007.

Sleep Posture Pillow
Dr. Larry Cole's invention "Sleep Posture Pillow" to be featured on QVC.

Early 2007 is also when Gary Allen's invention, the "AbsorbEase," will be featured on the network. Allen brought his invention to InventHelp® in late 1999, but it wasn't until several years later, that Allen's product was presented to and ultimately accepted by QVC. The AbsorbEase is now packaged, priced and awaiting its on-air appearance. The product itself consists of a piece of material that is placed into a pan during or after cooking to absorb excess grease. Like many other InventHelp® clients, Allen was inspired to invent by a common household problem - in this case, what to do with used cooking grease. Since pouring it down the drain causes plumbing problems and outdoor disposal is not environmentally friendly, Allen came up with AbsorbEase as a convenient solution.

While Allen designed his product to solve the pesky problem of cooking grease, Dr. Larry Cole invented the "Sleep Posture Pillow" to help individuals achieve a good night's sleep. He fashioned a uniquely shaped pillow that helps keep the spine in line while also elevating the head to keep the air path open. Dr. Cole brought his invention to InventHelp® in March 2006 and, not long after, the invention was presented to the QVC buyer, who expressed interest in Dr. Cole's invention. From there, Intromark staffers spent several weeks speaking with manufacturing companies about producing the pillow for a price that could sell on QVC. Right now, the invention is going through its final pricing process, and, if everything falls into place, Dr. Cole hopes to see his product on QVC in the near future.
