INPEX® Exhibitor in the News

INPEX Exhibitor Rashida Karmali's Invention, the Kool KapRashida Karmali is both a patent attorney and an inventor. After years of helping others obtain patents, she decided to patent an idea of her own. And in 2002, Karmali exhibited her invention, the Kool Kap, at INPEX — America's Largest Invention Tradeshow.

The Kool Kap is a baseball-style hat designed to cool the head, scalp and forehead on sunny days or during physical activity. Unlike conventional caps, the Kool Kap's venting slits would allow air to flow inside the cap and moisture to evaporate.

Like many first-time exhibitors, Karmali discovered that INPEX was more than a trade show, it was an educational experience. And, "The INPEX staff kept in touch with me even after the show was over," she said. The result was an article in the New York Daily News.

"I was called by so many different types of people after the article was written," she said. "The response because of the Daily News article was unbelievable."

This Manhattan attorney works with a number of Wall Street and Fortune 500 companies, and for her INPEX more than measured up. "The quality of the show was good, even when compared to the quality of services provided by corporations like GoldmanSachs, and others like them," said Karmali. "INPEX is a professionally run tradeshow," she added.

While Karmali's experience is not typical of what an INPEX client can expect, the New York Daily News published an article about Karmali and her invention as a result of publicity efforts by the INPEX Communications staff.
