Americans have been recognizing Black History Month as far back as 1926. This February, INPEX – America's Largest Invention Trade Show, would like to highlight some of its African-American inventors and entrepreneurs who have displayed an innovative spirit.
These inventors share that same entrepreneurial ideal as those who have come before them. Sarah Boone patented an ironing board in 1892. In more recent times, Lonnie Johnson developed the Super Soaker, the first water blaster to incorporate air pressure into its design, and James West patented the electret microphone.
