Georgia Inventor to Exhibit "The T.A.S." at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Pamela Harrell, from Oakwood, Ga., has invented a household device that would alert residents to a tornado warning. This patent-pending invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

"The T.A.S." is designed to sound a siren whenever the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for a specific location. This convenient device could provide homeowners and other individuals with the advance notice they need to take the proper precautions during a tornado warning. Unlike weather radios or other similar devices, The T.A.S. would be specific to tornado warnings as a smoke detector is to smoke.

The T.A.S. would consist of a wall-mounted alarm system, comparable in size to a thermostat. It would measure approximately 4 inches wide, 6 inches high and weigh less than a pound. The device could be made from plastics, circuit boards, transistors and other electronic devices. When activated, the alarm siren would be about as loud as the sirens on most smoke detectors.

The inventor conceived the idea for The T.A.S. based on an urgent problem she thought needed to be addressed. "I saw an interview with a gentleman who recently lived through a deadly tornado in Indiana and he said 'I didn't hear the alarms' referring to the city's warning sirens," she said. "After that, I knew something needed to be done."

Harrell is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer, distributor, venture capital, licensee or importer/exporter.
