California Inventor to Exhibit "Baser Door Handles" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Owen Baser, from Sacramento, Ca., has invented a modified door handle that makes it easy for people to open doors. This patented invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

The "Baser Door Handles" allow people with limited mobility or compromised motor skills to open doors easily and quickly. It also enables someone carrying groceries or other items to open the door with just a light touch. The Baser Door Handles help protect the walls from damage, and are easy to install. Rather than twisting like the conventional doorknob, the Baser Door Handles pushes open. According to the inventor, this invention fits standard door holes and it meets American Disability Association guidelines.

The invention measures approximately 3 1/2-inches and weighs about one pound. It is circular, with a piece resembling the shape of a figure eight on top. To use, a person lightly presses or pulls on the figure eight piece and the door opens. According to Baser, it needs less than one pound of pressure to pull or push open. The Baser Door Handles come in two finishes; Brushed Nickel and Brushed Brass. The product is currently being sold on the inventor's website, www.baserdoorhandles.com.

The inventor came up with this invention because of his own problem with opening doors. "My hands were full, and I was able to open my door because it wasn't fully shut," he said. "I began thinking about a door handle that could allow you to enter with a light touch. Eight years later, I have Baser Door Handles all throughout my home."

Baser is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a distributor.

INPEX®, The Invention Show, is a unique trade show that showcases new products and innovations that are available to business and industry to manufacture, license or distribute. As part of the event, The Invention Show sponsors INPEX Inventors University™, a series of seminars, presentations, and panel discussions to provide information that inventors may find useful in pursuing their ideas. This year's sponsors include Mainland China Direct, LLC, a company that produces, designs and manufactures original design products for the North American, European and Japan markets.
