New York Inventors to Exhibit "Basketcane" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Michael and Elizabeth Goldsmith, from Flushing, N.Y., have invented a walking cane with a storage area. This patented invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

Walking with a cane can make small tasks like pulling out a wallet or searching through a handbag a little more taxing. The "Basketcane" would offer a solution to this problem by providing cane users with a lightweight, easily accessible basket. This convenient storage space could eliminate the need for a person to carry additional items such as bags or personal effects.

Ideal for use by elderly, handicapped and disabled individuals, the Basketcane would consist of a wooden cane with a basket and lid. The basket would have enough space to house a wide variety of small items and also would feature a secure lid. The cane user could place important contents of a handbag or wallet inside the basket for safe and easy storage.

The inventors developed the Basketcane to make life a little easier for people walking with canes. "I witnessed an elderly woman with a cane struggle to get change from her handbag at a bus stop," one inventor said. "That inspired me to think up a way to make life more manageable for cane users."

The Goldsmiths are exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer, distributor, licensee, importer/exporter or venture capital.
