Ontario Inventor to Exhibit "The Beacon™" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Allan Dykeman, from Mississauga, Ontario, has invented a new lighting convenience for the bedroom. This invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

Though its uses are extensive, "The Beacon™" is designed primarily for elderly or disabled individuals who require bedside light. This device could eliminate the need for a person to search blindly for a light switch in a dark room. Additionally, The Beacon™ would be easy for anyone to quickly install and operate, and it could make a practical addition to a hospital or hotel room.

The Beacon™ would consist of a small plastic switch box with an attached cord. At the end of the cord would be an adapter that connects to the plug of a lamp or other light. The top of The Beacon™ would feature an illuminated, rocking on/off switch so that the device could be easily seen in the dark and quickly activated.

The inventor developed The Beacon™ to help people with limited mobility. "For a lot of elderly and disabled people, finding the light switch in a dark room can be a difficult, and often dangerous task," he said. "This invention provides them with a more convenient alternative."

Dykeman is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer, distributor or licensee.
