South Carolina Inventor to Exhibit "Timbertite" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Donald Waters, from Beech Island, S.C., has invented a timber-securing device for flatbed trucks. This patented invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

The "Timbertite" would provide truck drivers with a quick and easy way to secure dunnage to the bed of a trailer. Unlike rope, this durable device is designed to maintain tension - even if the timbers should rattle and roll on rough roads. The Timbertite also could offer a dependable alternative to using rubber straps, which can very easily slip or snap while being applied. In addition, this device may eliminate the need for a driver to crawl beneath a trailer and risk back injury while securing cargo.

Designed specifically to secure timber, the Timbertite would feature a 5,000-pound-capacity polyester strap for strength and durability, and a compression spring to maintain tension. For use, a driver could place timber beneath a trailer, secure the hook into the eyebolt on the spring assembly and tighten it as desired. The Timbertite also would provide drivers with the option of using a bolt-on or weld-on application.

The inventor developed the Timbertite after he had a close call while transporting some cargo. "The dunnage that I had secured under my trailer became loose and slid to the passenger side, hitting a bridge support as I passed through a construction site," he explains. "That got me thinking - what can I do to make sure my cargo stays secure? Timbertite was my solution."

Waters is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer or licensee.
