Massachusetts Inventor to Exhibit "Toilet-Safe" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that W. Matt Buss, from Lowell, Mass., has invented a child protection device for a toilet. This patented invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

The "Toilet-Safe" would help to keep kids and pets out of the toilet. This handy bathroom accessory could prevent children from getting into toilets and possibly sustaining injuries. The Toilet-Safe is designed for consistent security, with no adhesives or suction cups that could become detached after a short period of time. Additionally, this accessory would be easy to install and clean.

The Toilet-Safe would consist of a toilet seat, toilet lid and an engaging pin assembly. A hinge and bolt chassis would connect the seat and lid together, and each of these components would feature a small drill hole. With the toilet lid closed, the holes would align. The spring-loaded pin would be inserted into the hole to lock the seat, lid and chassis together, prohibiting any movement. To disengage, a rubber button on the hinge would be pressed while a person pulls up on the seat. Whenever the lid is closed again, the hinge would automatically re-lock.

The inventor conceived the idea for the Toilet-Safe based on his experience as a father. "I had a new daughter and wanted to keep her from getting into the toilet," he said. "I purchased a lid lock that failed to stay attached after a few days, so I created my own solution."

Buss is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer, distributor or venture capital.
