North Carolina Inventor to Exhibit "Top Hat" for Lawnmowers at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that John Swain, from Wilmington, N.C., has invented a protective enclosure for riding lawnmowers. This invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

For people with allergies, mowing the lawn can be a difficult and sneeze-filled chore. The "Top Hat" would provide lawnmower riders with protection from debris, pollen and other airborne contaminants that can trigger allergies. This innovative device also could help keep clothing free from dust and dirt, reduce the amount of lawnmower noise the rider hears, guard against ultraviolet (UV) rays and protect a person from flying insects.

The Top Hat would be made from aluminum tubing and protective 30-guage plastic. The invention also would feature easy-open doors and a filtered fan cooler. The Top Hat would attach to the top of a riding lawnmower (like a hat), and a rider could sit inside of the enclosure as he or she mows the lawn.

The inventor designed the Top Hat for personal use. "I was tired of getting dusty and dirty from mowing, and having to wear a mask because of my allergies," he said. "So I created the Top Hat to use during the mowing season and I've found it very helpful."

Swain is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer or licensee.
