Alberta Inventor to Exhibit "The Waterkid Baby Carrier™" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Catherine Hiscocks, from Carseland, Alberta, Canada, has invented a baby carrier for use on dry land and in the water. This patented invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

The "Waterkid Baby Carrier™" gives parents and caregivers the option to carry their baby in the water, whether it be the ocean or the shower. The design helps to keep the baby's weight in the middle of the back, so it's easier for parents to carry them. Lightweight and quick drying, The Waterkid Baby Carrier™ is buoyant when it hits the water, but could also be used to carry babies on dry land as well.

The invention is made of neoprene, and can carry infants from 8 to 30 pounds. To use, a caregiver puts on the carrier with the infant pouch facing forward, fastens the waist buckle and tightens and adjusts the waist and shoulder straps. The baby gets placed into the carrier feet first, and once they are secured in the pouch, the adult secures the shoulder and waist straps for a comfortable and snug fit. Available in six colors, The Waterkid Baby Carrier™ is currently being sold on the Internet at www.waterkid.ca. (Suggested Retail Price: $70.00 (USD).

The inventor came up with this idea from her own experience raising children. "I was playing in the pool with my toddler and 5-month old," she said. "When I reached for my toddler, I lost my grip on my baby. It could have been a tragic situation, and I knew that I had to invent something for parents or caregivers to use in the water."
