New York Inventor to Exhibit "Waterproof/Disposable Shower Chair Seat Cover" at America's Largest Invention Show

PITTSBURGH... INPEX®, America's Largest Invention Trade Show, announces that Michelle Massie, from Brooklyn, N.Y., has invented a new hygiene accessory for shower chairs. This patent-pending invention will be exhibited at INPEX®, June 6-9, in Pittsburgh.

Ideal for use in hospitals, hotels and at home, the "Waterproof/Disposable Shower Chair Seat Cover" is designed to prevent the spread of germs and infection. This convenient, easy-to-use cover also could protect the surface of a shower chair, allowing for less wear and tear and possibly extending its "working life". This hygiene accessory would be particularly useful for public places where multiple people use the same shower chair.

Made from durable, water-resistant, thin plastic (similar to that of a shower cap or cleaner's bag), the Waterproof/Disposable Shower Chair Seat Cover could be produced in small, medium and large sizes. The cover would have an elastic edge that could allow it to fit comfortably on different style chairs. The accessory also may be produced in models to fit both backed and backless shower chairs, or with cushioning and padding for additional consumer comfort.

The inventor designed the Waterproof/Disposable Shower Chair Seat Cover as a result of medical problems her mother experienced. "After my mom had a stroke, her physical condition required her to use a shower chair. Because the chair was used by a large number of patients, she ended up getting an infection," she explains. "After that, I began thinking of ways to make shower chairs more sanitary."

Massie is exhibiting at INPEX® with the hopes of finding a manufacturer, distributor, licensee or venture capital.
