InventHelp’s INPEX® 2016 Invention Show Recap
On June 7th, InventHelp’s INPEX, America’s Largest Invention Show opened its doors at the Monroeville Convention Center just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Running through June 9th, INPEX 2016 featured inventions ranging in over 40 different categories.
INPEX was proud to announce two-time Heavyweight Champion and successful entrepreneur George Foreman as its 2016 keynote speaker. Foreman spoke about his long-time friend Muhammad Ali, and how the boxer was the perfect example of always believing in oneself. Exhibitors were able to hear an inspirational speech from a man who was turned away from boxing promoters who did not believe in him, to a man who believed in himself enough to invest in his own brand, and become successful.
Following his keynote, Foreman created quite a media buzz on the show floor as he generously posed for photos with eager inventors. Patiently, inventors waited for their photo opp with the heavyweight champ in a line that extended most of the length of the show floor.
Many exhibitors were selected for an opportunity to pitch their inventions to large companies such as Brookstone, QVC, Cuisinart, Allstar Products Group, Danco, Partsmaster, Great Star, RPG, Schroeder & Tremayne and Pitchman Marc Grill. This year, QVC featured their own camera crew on stage and did a live shot of the pitches.
VIBE, Virtual Invention Browsing Experience, was back for its second year at INPEX. VIBE provided business attendees with the ability to surf through over 1,400 inventions available for licensing or manufacturing. Located in the VIP Lounge, business attendees could easily browse inventions on a touch screen by keyword to fit their company’s interest.
This year Facebook Live made its INPEX debut. Social Media Specialists Kali Kubatka and Maria Jones had the chance to interview Nicole Lininger, INPEX Trade Show Director, and receive answers to various questions submitted by inventors and viewers. They also had the opportunity to demonstrate some of the products on the show floor for a few lucky exhibitors.
INPEX wrapped up on Thursday evening, June 9th, with the International Awards Ceremony. Jury, merit, and special awards were given to inventors. The top three prizes went to the following:
- Grand Prix Second Runner Up ($2,000) – Good Arch Fir Kang Fu Rou Breathable Pads - Taiwan
- Grand Prix First Runner Up ($3,000) – Food Freshness Card – Rick Hassler – USA
- Grand Prix Award ($7,500) – Mudder – Larry Carswell - USA
