INPEX Implements Pilot Project of Japanese KUMON Math Education Methodology at Astana, Kazakhhstan

Sustainability

INPEX North Caspian Sea Ltd., a subsidiary of INPEX Corporation (INPEX), has partnered with the NPO Caravan of Knowledge, Kumon Institute of Education Co., Ltd. and Chevron Munaigas Inc. to implement a pilot project of the Japanese KUMON math education methodology for two elementary school classes in Astana in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Key features of the Japanese Kumon methodology applied in this project

The Japanese KUMON methodology is a system of individualized learning that helps students develop arithmetic skills through daily independent work with adapted assignments. Since September 2025, 39 students have been participating in the pilot project. All tasks are completed on tablets. Verification is carried out automatically, while teachers retain the ability to monitor progress and, if necessary, adjust the student's educational trajectory. Through this project, we aim to contribute to improving the educational standards of the people of Kazakhstan.

INPEX will continue implementing social contribution activities to support and enhance the social and economic development of local communities in response to their needs.
