April 2003 INPEX acquires interests in ACG oil fields
2005 Commences oil production in central section of Azeri Field in February

In April 2003, INPEX acquired an interest in the Azeri, Chirag and Gunashli (ACG) oil fields in the south Caspian Sea offshore Azerbaijan. Currently, oil production activities are being conducted in the Chirag, Central Azeri, West Azeri, East Azeri, Deepwater Gunashli and West Chirag oil fields. In September 2021, cumulative crude oil production from the ACG Oil Fields reached four billion barrels. In April 2024, oil production commenced from the new Azeri Central East (ACE) platform.
