INPEX produced and shipped condensate, LPG and LNG from the Bayu-Undan Gas Condensate Field from 2004 and supplied gas to domestic customers in Australia from 2006 until production was terminated on June 4, 2025. Meanwhile, Barossa LNG is developing the Barossa Gas Field located in Australian waters off the Northern Territory of Australia and linking it by pipeline to the Darwin liquefied natural gas plant for LNG production, which commenced in December 2025. Currently, INPEX is taking part in studies on reutilizing the depleted Bayu-Undan Gas Condensate Field to capture and store CO₂ emitted from surrounding oil and gas fields, as part of its climate change response initiatives.
