INPEX, through its subsidiary INPEX Alpha, Ltd., acquired an interest in the Griffin oil field located in the WA-10-L block in February 1989. The Griffin oil field was discovered between 1989 and 1990, and production commenced in 1994. Following additional development drilling, the field once achieved a peak production rate of 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day. However, due to natural decline in output, production was terminated on October 23, 2009.
