INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) held its annual open house for the children and families of employees at its head office in Tokyo, Japan on July 24, to coincide with the beginning of the summer vacation period of elementary schools. 111 INPEX employees and children of elementary school age participated, significantly exceeding the attendance in previous years.
The highlight of the event consisted of children learning about the company's business operations and its responsibilities to society through a live conference call with the Abu Dhabi office and quizzes. The children also took a tour of the workplace and practiced the exchange of business cards. Other experiential attractions included a photo spot set up in a conference room allowing children to get a feel for the office environment; an artwork booth allowing children to illustrate cotton bags in the Oasis lounge; and quiz challenges on each floor. Children and their families also enjoyed snack time.
Feedback from the children included statements such as, "I was able to learn many things about the company. I would like to join this event again next year," "the exchange of business cards was fun" and "the event made me want to join INPEX."
INPEX will continue implementing social contribution activities including education and empowerment initiatives.
