INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) joined the 30% Club Japan, which aims to boost the number of female board members and women in corporate leadership positions.
The 30% Club is a global campaign founded in the United Kingdom in 2010 with the goal of increasing the proportion of women in key decision-making bodies of companies, including boards of directors. In Japan, the 30% Club Japan was launched in 2019. Various initiatives are being implemented with the goal of achieving 30% female representation on the board of directors of TOPIX100 by 2030.
Through participation in the TOPIX President's Committee, a working group of the 30% Club Japan, INPEX will engage with other member companies to discuss the fundamental challenges hindering progress on gender diversity within Japanese corporations and effective measures to overcome these challenges. Furthermore, by proactively engaging in the implementation of these measures itself, INPEX aims to steadily advance the realization of gender equality and becomes a frontrunner in promoting women's advancement within the energy industry.
In January, INPEX announced its DE&I Policy, positioning the promotion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) as an essential element in achieving its goal of becoming an employer of choice.
INPEX will continue to enhance an environment where diverse talents, including women, can grow and thrive, and we will strive for the sustainable improvement of corporate value.
