INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) held an event during January and February this year at teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, which it sponsors, inviting about 500 primary and secondary school students from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
INPEX announced the signing of a contract to sponsor the museum with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) through its subsidiary Japan Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (JODCO) in 2023, outlining its intention to invite Emirati youth to the art space to contribute to the development of their curiosity and imagination. This event is the first initiative since the opening of the museum to honor that intention.
The invited students enjoyed viewing and experiencing the exhibits. Many of the students expressed their curiosity, posing questions such as, "Why does it work this way?" and 'How does the artwork change when touched?" The event was connected to INPEX's goal of providing opportunities to stimulate learning and creativity.
INPEX positions Abu Dhabi as one of its core business areas and is actively engaged in social contribution activities in addition to its crude oil exploration and production and clean energy businesses. Going forward, we will continue to actively promote initiatives that contribute to supporting and developing mutual understanding and cordial relations between the UAE and Japan, in cooperation with the museum and other partners.
