INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) has achieved Gold Standard Reporting under the Oil & Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0), a program led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as announced in the annual report published on October 15, 2026.
OGMP 2.0 is an international program for the oil and gas sector that promotes methane emissions reductions through measurement-based reporting. It is a core component of UNEP's International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) and the only comprehensive, measurement-based international methane emissions reporting framework for the sector. The program aims to improve the accuracy and transparency of methane emissions data and support effective emissions reduction.
INPEX became the first Japanese company to join OGMP 2.0 in November 2023. In its 2024 and 2025 submissions, INPEX received Gold Standard Pathway recognition after developing concrete plans to transition its assets to advanced, measurement-based reporting and demonstrating progress in implementing those plans.
In the 2026 reporting cycle, INPEX achieved Gold Standard Reporting for the first time, reflecting an assessment of its implementation of OGMP 2.0 requirements, including measurement-based emissions reporting and efforts to confirm the accuracy and reliability of reported data. This achievement demonstrates steady progress in enhancing INPEX's methane emissions quantification and reporting and advancing its emissions reduction efforts. INPEX will continue to further improve methane measurement and reporting and pursue additional emissions reductions.
